Martin Vervoort CLV Group's Bio:
Based in Ottawa, Martin Vervoort is a lawyer with more than three decades of legal experience. Specializing in corporate law and real estate, Vervoort has served as the in-house legal counsel for CLV Group, a private property management and rental company, and InterRent REIT, a Canadian real estate investment trust since 2011.
Martin Vervoort attended the University of Waterloo and the University of Toronto, where he earned his undergraduate degree in Canadian History. He went on to receive his law degree from Queen’s University in Kingston before being called to the bar in 1987.
Before he joined CLV Group and InterRent REIT, Vervoort gained experience at the Ottawa- based law firm Maclaren Corlett LLP.
In addition to his work as a lawyer, Martin Vervoort is known for his philanthropic spirit and believes that civic engagement and participating in charitable activities is not only good for the soul, but also a way to boost team and company morale.
Martin Vervoort has been awarded with CLV Group’s Ron Kolbus award for community involvement twice and has served on the board of directors for a number of non-profit organizations. From 2014 to 2016 he was chair of the board of directors for the Canadian Mental Health Association--Ottawa Branch. From 2007 to 2010, Vervoort served on the board of Ottawa Festivals. He was also involved with the Ottawa Dragon Boat Festival for eight years, six
of which he was Chair of the Festival’s Board.
